Boss Murphy Community Fund is a  donor-advised charity established in 2022, funded by the Murphy family and managed by Community Foundation Ireland in honour of John Francis Boss Murphy (1875-1955), from Churchtown, who collected the traditional music of North County Cork between 1933 and 1935. Boss Murphy Community Fund is registered in Ireland number 715829.

Boss Murphy Community Fund and its predecessor Churchtown Village Renewal Trust have supported many Churchtown-related community projects over the years including Churchtown GAA (now Liscarroll Churchtown Gaels CLG), Churchtown Community Centre, Churchtown National School, Liscarroll National School, Liscarroll Handball Club and others. Where a funding request does not meet the fund’s cultural requirements the Murphy family may still offer financial support.

Boss Murphy Community Fund has also supported CPS Trust Ireland a charity dedicated to providing direct support to local charitable organisations in Zambia. Gerry was appointed a Trustee of CPS in 2025. CPS is an Irish Charity registration number 20206016.
